Losing to Chee Wei during their last encounter at Golden 10, Imtiaz has finally revenged that loss with this sweet victory.
During the Semi Finals, Chee Wei faced no difficulty as he crushed Chooi Yew Wah with a 4-2 scoreline to advance into the Final. Imtiaz, however, was forced to go all the way as Patrick Ooi proved too strong an opponent. Imtiaz finally won it on the colours in the final frame to play Chee Wei in the Final.
The Final was however a totally different situation as Imtiaz proved to be the better player, leaving Chee Wei having to struggle for shots and pots. Imtiaz made a 51 break to win Frame 1 but was immediately leveled back as Chee Wei cleared the colours ball in Frame 2. Imtiaz pulled the game one level higher and sped off to a 2 frame lead, requiring only 1 more frame for the title. Chee Wei, after a short interval managed to narrow the gap after taking Frame 5 but that was the end of road as Imtiaz claimed Frame 6 and match to seal the victory.
Imtiaz Serwer takes home RM 3,000 cash prize plus trophy for his effort while Lai Chee Wei only takes home RM 1,200 cash prize and trophy. Highest Break went to Lai Chee Wei with 95 points made during his Semi Final match.
Leg 16 of the Tour continues to Club 21, Kepong Baru with only 3 legs remaining for this year.
