It was a tough and endurance test match but Elvin Lean emerged eventually winning his Quarter Final match against Hong Kong's Lau Ka Lam. Trailing 2-4 at one point in the match, Elvin continued to give all he had as he nailed one ball at a time. By the time the final frame cued off, the surrounding was already crowded with all the supporters, some even clambering on to chairs around the table to watch the final frame. After a gruelling 40 minutes, the "Malaysia Boleh" chant was heard accompanied with the most thunderous applause of the night as Lau conceded the frame and match.
Elvin will be flying the Malaysia flag alone tomorrow in the Semi Finals as he plays another Hong Kong player, Chan Ka Kin, who beat Sebastian H'ng in the other Quarter Final match 5-2. In the other Semi Final match, it's an All Thai affair as 2010 World Amateur Champion Dechawat Poomjaeng plays his team mate Noppon Saengkham, 2009 World Junior Champion. Both whitewashed their opponents with Mohd Reza and Lai Chee Wei on the receiving end.
