Ibrahim Amir wins Silver at Asian Games

Playing one of his favourite discipline in Pool, Ibrahim Amir does Malaysia proud as he wins Silver in the Men 8 Ball Pool Single event at the 16th Guangzhou Asian Games 2010. He lost to Kuo Po Cheng from Chinese Taipei with a scoreline of 7-4.

Before the Final commenced, nervousness could be felt around the Malaysia contingent as this was the possible first Gold medal for Malaysia at the Games should Ibrahim Amir beat Kuo Po Cheng from Chinese Taipei. With the tremendous amount of stress and pressure on him, Amir appeared shaky in the beginning but gradually overcame it as he trailed 2-5 during time out. Coming back from the break, he managed to chase back 2 racks, narrowing the gap to 4-6 but as they say, his playing form came too late as Kuo cleared Rack 11 to win rack and match, and also the Gold medal.

The Government will be awarding him with a cash incentive total of RM 40,000 for his effort at the Games.

Congratulations to Ibrahim Amir !! 1Malaysia !! Malaysia Boleh !!
