Both Ooi Chin Kay and Lai Chee Wei were aiming to add one more title to their belt as they advance into the Final. Winning Leg 6 and Leg 4 respectively, both were playing well after Chin Kay won Roslan Yurnalis 4-2 in the Semi Final while Chee Wei won new National No 1 Moh Keen Hoo 4-1 in the other Semi Final.
As the Final started, Chin Kay took the lead as he wins the first frame but Chee Wei immediately stamped his authority in the match, winning the next 3 frames in a row to regain the lead at 3-1. Having home ground advantage on his side, Chee Wei with only one frame away and one hand now on the Champion's trophy but little did he know that Chin Kay had other plans for him. Frame by frame, Chin Kay soon leveled the match at 3-3 with only one final frame left to decide the winner. Chee Wei lost his playing form in the final frame and Chin Kay immediately capitalized on the opportunity to win the frame and match. Chin Kay wins the Championship and also a cash prize of RM 2,500.
