Malaysia was recently invited to participate in a Under 16 Invitational Snooker Tournament in Hong Kong. Other countries that were also invited to the Tournament were Japan, Singapore and Thailand.

Representing Malaysia at the tournament was Sheldon Senagang from Sabah who has been playing the game since 10 years old and has a few local achievements which included winning the TKC Invitational Snooker Championship 2010 and 1st Runner up in Sabah Closed Snooker Championship 2010.

Players in the Tournament were divided into 4 groups with 3 players each. After completing all the matches, the leader in each group will then qualify into the Semi Finals. Sheldon won both his Group matches and qualified for the Semi Final where he plays Leong Man Hoi from Hong Kong. The other Semi Final match was between RatchayothinYotharuck from Thailand and Cheung Shi Lung from Hong Kong. Sheldon beat Leong 4-2 to advance into the Final whilst Ratchayothin whitewashed Cheung 4-0. In the Final, Sheldon however was unfortunate as he was on the receiving side of the whitewash as Ratchayothin beat him with the same scoreline of 4-0 to win the Tournament.

Sheldon received a Shark's cue, Runner up's trophy and a box of cue tips for his effort in the Tournament.
